    The Episcopal Church will be meeting at its triennial General Convention from July 8-17, 2009. In ten full days of meetings, this large, democratically-elected body will worship together and will consider legislation covering the full range of matters of our life and ministry as a church, including many things for which all will be justly proud. If past experience is any guide, the news media will report only on those matters that are controversial. That kind of reporting creates a very unbalanced picture of the Episcopal Church and obscures the good that we know from our own experience.
