June 2008 Rector’s Youth Class
The Rev. Merrill Wade will lead a class for the youth on Sunday mornings at 9:15 in the month of June. This class will prepare children in the 6th grade and older for Confirmation when Bishop Harrison comes to St. Matthew’s the weekend of September 27-28. Below is the schedule and location of the classes:
June 1, Understanding the Holy Eucharist, Part 1 – we will go through the first half of the Sunday worship service (Bible readings, sermon, Nicene Creed and Prayers) in detail – Room B-18
June 8, Let’s Talk about the Bible – in this class, we will join the adult Discovery Class in Huffman Hall to talk about how we read and understand the Bible in our church.
June 15, Understanding the Holy Eucharist, Part 2 – we will go through the second half of the Sunday worship (Holy Communion) in detail. – Room B-18
June 22, Why Should I be confirmed by the Bishop? – Kevin Schubert will teach about confirmation in Room B-18.
June 29, The Message of Jesus – why are we Christians anyway? We will study the preaching of Jesus and learn what he wants for all of us. – Room B-18.
