Scouting at St. Matt's

Boy Scout Troop 511

Click here for more information and photos for Troup 511

Boy Scout Troop 511 has been serving Scouting for over 35 years. The Troop began at Hill Elementary, but has called St. Matthew’s home for many, many years. The Troop meets every Tuesday night from 7 p. m. to 8:30 p. m. in Huffman Hall. Troop 511 closely follows the principles and ideals of Boy Scouts, in that it strives to help boys grow into honorable young men by providing a "boy run” program that builds character, fosters citizenship and develops fitness of mind, body, and soul. The Troop camps monthly at places such as Lost Pines Scout Reservation, Enchanted Rock, Lake Georgetown, Guadalupe River State Park, Inks Lake and other wonderful locations throughout Texas. The Troop has attended Sea Base High Adventure Camp in the Florida Keys and Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. Many of our scouts have attended summer camp at Lost Pines Scout Reservation and Camp Ben DelaTour in Colorado.
