Curriculum Overview

New tennis shoes…new notebooks…new crayons…new backpacks…new classrooms…new teachers…new friends…new adventures! In the midst of all the “newness” and uncertainty the beginning of the school year brings, it is nice to remember that God’s love for us NEVER changes and that God is there with us, no matter where our life journey takes us. The curriculum for the first term of our fall Children’s Sunday School classes is called “Goin’ Places With God.” During the first six weeks of the fall semester, we will be “goin’ places” with Jesus, Abraham and Moses, the Magi, the disciples and Paul. We will remember that God loves us and is with us ALWAYS, no matter where we go or what obstacles or challenges lay in our path. We hope you will make plans to join the fun at 9:15 on Sunday mornings. We’re “goin’ places” with God and want YOU to come go with us!

Goin’ Places With God

Aug. 17	Abraham’s Great Adventure	God has wonderful things in store for each one of us…if we are just willing to follow God!
Aug. 24	Moses – the Red Sea, the Wilderness and the Promised Land	God promises to show us the way and to provide for us…if we are willing to trust God!
Aug. 31	The Magi’s Wonderful Journey	There is no telling what wonderful things we will find and what grand adventures we will have along the way if we set our hearts and eyes on finding God!
Sept. 7	Jesus travels to the Temple	We “re-charge” our batteries and “re-pack” for our journey by coming to church.
Sept. 14	Paul’s Journey	God LOVES surprises!
Sept. 21	An Invitation from Jesus	Jesus said, “Come and follow me.” All we have to do is take that first step…and the adventure begins!

ALL children through age 4 are welcome in the nursery on Sunday morning. However, 3 and 4 year olds who are reliably potty trained and developmentally ready for a more structured environment, are invited to attend Sunday School from 9:15 - 10:15 in Room B16 followed by Chapel in the Choir Room from 10:30 - 11:00.
