Welcome!
This is one of the greatest cities in the world with an abundance of live music (hence our nickname, “The Live Music Capital of the World”), some of the best restaurants in the country, an abundance of outdoor activities for every age, and the friendliest people you’ll ever meet.

At St. Matthew’s, we try to embody the spirit of our great city by opening our doors to anyone who would like to join us for worship and fellowship—everyone is welcome without exception. Many of our church members come to us from other faith traditions and denominations, or with little or no background in religion whatsoever.
At St. Matthew’s, we value scripture, prayer, fine music, memorable preaching, and joyful worship on Sundays as well as helping families to grow in the knowledge and love of the Lord—and we have fun in the process! We value God’s gifts of reason and common sense and do not tend to over-literalize the Bible or ask you to check your intellect at the door to experience God’s presence and direction in your life. Above all, you’ll find a friendly community of people united by their faith in God and eagerness to serve others.
We are empowered by our time of worship to serve Christ in the world. We invite you to attend our Sunday services, or any of the worship services. When you attend, please introduce yourself to a member of the clergy and visit the Welcome Table just outside the church sanctuary.
Music at St. Matthew’s is something we take great pride in and are proud of the playful nickname we’ve been given, “The Live Music Capital of Northwest Austin.” It is lovely, inspiring, and high quality. We have great relationships with local indie artists and classical musicians, and we frequently have guest musicians perform during our 10:30 am sanctuary service on Sunday mornings.
There are many opportunities for all people of all ages to connect and become involved in our many fellowship and outreach programs. We are deeply committed to serving those in need, not only in Austin, but around the world. And our parish staff is also always here for you in the case of personal or family need that requires individual attention.
As you become more acquainted with us, we hope you will feel comfortable, loved and embraced by what we have to offer. We want everyone who attends our church to have an urgent sense of God’s love! At St. Matthew’s, we understand that this requires a meaningful commitment from us, and that we need help each week to stay on the course of spiritual growth.
Please feel free to contact us directly with any questions or if we can support you in any way. And for more information please read through our EPISCOPAL CHURCH FAQ page.
