Susan Kerr
Office Manager, Office@StMattsAustin.org;

Susan is a native of Denver, Colorado. She received an undergraduate degree in Urban Studies from Tufts University in Boston, and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Colorado. She married a fellow architect and moved to the hills of East Tennessee where she raised her son and daughter. Their architectural and development firm helped bring the warehouse district of Knoxville back to life, and later, Susan was the Park and Greenway Coordinator for Knox County, Tennessee.
It was there, in that self-proclaimed “Buckle of the Bible Belt” that she began to read the Bible and to think that this amazing Christian story might actually be true. She has pursued the study of the Bible and of Christianity ever since, receiving a Master of Divinity degree in 2023 from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Susan is also a professional writer who contributed for many years to adult Sunday school curriculum for the Publisher, David C. Cook, and more recently co-authored and edited eight textbooks for the International Seminary, Global Action. She is currently writing a series of essays on the character of God, as revealed in Christ.
Susan is happy to be a part of the rich and quirky and never-dull life of St. Matthew’s, and at the end of the day she loves to sit on her balcony with her little dog, Mokie, and listen to the forest.
