The Rev. Jerry Chapman, one of our assisting clergy, completed his theological studies in 1980 in Dallas at the Anglican School of Theology. He served his deaconate year at St. John’s in Austin then spent the following six years as an assistant at St. George’s, Austin. He has since served as supply clergy to a number of parishes. His primary interest is pastoral ministry, especially to our senior citizens. Currently he conducts services and visitations at two Austin assisted living facilities.A native of Dallas, Jerry was active as a youth in the Methodist Church. He attended Texas A&M University prior to serving in the Navy. Upon leaving the Navy, he married, and completed his B.S. in Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington. Fr. Jerry has remained in secular employment during his ministry. He worked at IBM in various engineering and management positions for 27 years. Currently he manages the Austin engineering development center for LSI Logic.Jerry has had a long association with St. Matthew’s where he worshiped prior to completing his theological studies. Jerry and his late wife, Marguerita, have two adult children, Lisa and James, who participated in St. Matthew’s youth groups.
